Post-Doctoral Researchers

Jynessa Dutka-Gianelli, Post-doctoral Research Associate.

I work on interdisciplinary projects focused on integrative fisheries sciences, place-based management, and human dimension of natural resources, exploring participatory research and methodologies for stakeholder engagement in management and governance processes. My current research related to social-ecological and economic impacts of the construction of large hydroelectric dams in the Amazon Basin involves exploring the impacts of management strategies in the livelihood of local communities, engaging in initiatives to enhance communities’ livelihoods and resilience, and evaluating the performance of fisheries practices and management strategies to inform decision-makers and managers. I also work developing visualization tools utilizing ArcGIS and spatial analysis, and apply novel methods to integrate local knowledge and scientific information to promote collaborations among diverse stakeholders, build capacity, and improve management and conservation of natural resources.
